It’s official! We’re back in the studio recording a new album

We’re excited to announce that we’ve begun recording our sophomore album with our favourite music man Alex Gamble, the talented engineer (shown on the far right in the image above) who recorded our debut album and who continues to bat 1.000 with his suggestions. He also successfully managed to tolerate our shenanigans during our first session this past weekend:

We’re also very happy to be back at Union Sound, a top-notch recording studio in Corktown that cracked blogTO’s list of top studios in the city. Not only does the studio have a whole chest full of strange percussion instruments, including three cowbells, but they’ve also had Feist, The Arkells and The Rheostatics record there. Needless to say, we’re ecstatic and humbled to be recording in the same space as those amazing artists.

Though we’re not ready to spill the beans on the new material quite yet, we’re happy to share the behind the scenes highlights from our first recording session:

It’s far too early to confirm a release date, but it will be in 2019 – we’ll provide updates and details on this website and on our social media channels once we confirm a date.

Special thanks goes out to Lilly Crow for taking these fantastic photos and of course to Alex Gamble, who is so incredibly easy to work with and always has great feedback to help elevate our music. Lastly, if you do want to hear the new material, come check us out at one of our upcoming shows.

One love,

MP
