It’s been a great year for the band and we can’t thank you enough for all of the support you have shown us. That’s why we’re so incredibly excited to play our year-end show at Junction City Music Hall on Friday, December 15th. This is the same venue that hosted our album release party back in June, and so we can’t help but think of that great night as we prepare for this upcoming gig.
In honour of #tbt, here are a few of our favourite moments from that show, including a few recollections from each band member. We hope to see you at Junction City Music Hall on December 15th! We’ll have a few surprises up our sleeves for you. Until then, enjoy this look back.
The night started with the video premiere of ‘Born to Love You’, the lead single off of our debut album. Having your friends and family gather in the same room to watch the video was certainly a great way to set the tone and kick-off the evening. As the video ended, the band huddled behind the screen for a private congratulatory fist-pump moment. We didn’t know it at the time, but photographer extraordinaire and friend of the band Claudio Paola caught the moment on camera:

Fist-pumps and high-fives ahead of our album release show.
We then kicked off our set with ‘On Top of the Game’. Here’s a clip:

We even included an acoustic set where we played a cover of Janet Jackson’s ‘That’s the Way Love Goes’ and Aerosmith’s ‘Crazy’:
Of course, we also played our favourite MP songs, including ‘Psychotic Break’:
The party didn’t end when we finished our set, as the Frias Brothers spun some classics while we continued our tradition of post-gig band shots.

It’s not a celebration unless whiskey shots are involved.
As for our impressions of the night, here’s what the band had to say:
Bret
“It was an emotional rollercoaster. I was overwhelmed by all the love and support we received, and so proud of everything we had accomplished as a band. At the same time, I was riddled with self doubt and ready to puke.”
Michelle
“It was amazing to see the culmination of a year’s work come together and to share that moment with the people who supported us continuously along the way.”
The look on Michelle’s face pretty much sums it up:
Jaina
“It was amazing to see the bar packed with some of our favourite people. I loved that people were dancing and singing along to our music.”
Rene
“The best part of the night was all our families and friends that came out to support us and pick up copies of the album! To have it so well received is the ultimate compliment. Our fans are the best!”
Gio
“Seeing our friends and family come out to support us created a close-knitted and intimate experience that I’ll never forget. I was getting goosebumps looking up during our set and seeing people really groove to our music. The vibe couldn’t have been better.”
