About “Charlie’s Story”

“Charlie’s Story” unfolds as a raw and unfiltered portrayal of the internal battles faced by individuals grappling with mental health issues. Through vivid storytelling, the song confronts themes of self-harm, desperation, and the profound impact on loved ones. In the verses, Charlie’s turmoil is laid bare as he grapples with the weight of his inner demons, while the chorus serves as a stark reminder of the urgency and gravity of Charlie’s situation. Through the bridge, the focus shifts to Betty, Charlie’s devoted wife, who herself is not immune to the toll of Charlie’s mental anguish. As she confronts her own battles, the song paints a vivid picture of their struggles and the heartbreaking reality of their situation.

“It was important for me to showcase the fact that we are all susceptible to mental health issues based on any number of factors, in this case loss,” says Michelle Mondesir, the band’s lyricist and lead singer. “Mental health is as important as any other aspect of human health and it is important that we start to appreciate this and reduce the stigma surrounding it so that when issues arise they can be addressed without shame or worry about how one will be treated.”

“Charlie’s Story” is a testament to the band’s ability to blend gritty, high energy rock with socially conscious lyrics, creating a powerful musical experience for fans old and new. Madame Psychosis will be supporting “Charlie’s Story” with performances at NXNE on June 12th and Toronto Pride on June 28th. The accompanying music video, set to release in early June, promises a visually captivating experience that complements the song’s depth.
